Rose Care
Roses have earned a reputation for being temperamental, but in reality the bushes really need just the basics like any other plant. Sun, water, rich soil, and proper drainage will grow healthy roses. Roses also need to be winterized, but other than that they are pretty basic.
Roses do best with six hours of morning sun. The morning sun is better because it accelerates the drying of morning dew, if left to sit until afternoon the moisture can cause problems like mold and other diseases. Of course if the only place the roses can go is in an a spot that receives only afternoon sun the plant will probably be fine as long as it receives at least six hours of sun.
For the best rose care, water thoroughly twice a week. Avoid getting water on the upper part of the bush and concentrate on watering the base of the plant only. Again, excess moisture can cause mold and disease, placing mulch around the base of the bush will help the roots retain moisture and block moisture from crawling up the bush.
