Long Stem Rose
The long stem rose is a symbol of romance. So much so it has become popular as a single flower bouquet at weddings. Selecting the perfect single long stem rose from the florist means examining a few flowers to find one with the fewest imperfections.
It’s best to buy the rose as a bud. The rose will bloom in a couple of days and can last up to ten days after that. Buying the long stem rose while it’s still a bud can buy a couple of days in the life of the bloom.
When displaying the long stem rose, remove all the leaves on the lower half of the stem. Cut the stem about one half to one inch, at an angle. Place the bloom in water and add the packet of plant food that came with the rose. The packet provides nutrients that will keep the flower alive longer. Place the vase in a sunny room, but not in direct sunlight and enjoy the beautiful flower for almost two weeks!
